yvanko is a French artist we have been following for a few years now. His first record was composed between Reunion Island, Kiev, and Ivry-sur-Seine as part of our new Spectre series.

Pluviôse is a written, sensitive, asymmetrical, irascible world: wild at times, but always in control. A world wherein each moment holds it’s share of lyricism, of tragedy, of drama. Wherein each interaction between its inhabitants gives evidence of life. Each one comes, but inevitably leaves, flirting delicately among a tumefied, atrophied, swollen and overflowing mother substance. Swarms of visual sounds sweep through the landscape, breaking down in beating rains, moving from I to He in phrases. Here, madness is the original condition of life, movement and matter are confused and subject to one another, the pulse is abstracted from all necessity. Curving time and elusive rhythms belong to the same pen, drawing out in one shared movement, both the pointillist subtleties and the vast torsions that compose Pluviôse.

yvanko est un artiste français dont nous suivons la trace depuis quelques années déjà. Son premier disque a été composé entre La Réunion, Kiev et Ivry-sur-Seine dans le cadre de notre nouvelle série Spectre.

Pluviôse est un monde écrit, affecté, sensible, dissymétrique, irascible, emporté parfois mais refréné toujours. Chaque instant porte son lyrisme, son tragique, son théâtre. Chacune des interactions entre ses constituants fait preuve de signe de vie ; chacune vient mais toujours s’en va, flirtant finement au sein d’une substance mère tuméfiée et débordant d’elle-même. Des essaims de sons visuels déferlent, s’abattent et se brisent en pluies battantes, passant du je au il par phrasés. L’affolement est ici la condition première, la matière et le mouvement sont proposés soumis et confondus, la pulsation considérée en dehors d’elle-même et abstraite de toute nécessité. Temps courbé et rythmes évanouis reposent sous la même plume et dépeignent ensemble les délicatesses pointillistes comme les torsions générales de Pluviôse.
